The Bottle Tree (Brachychiton rupestris) is native of Queensland, Australia and its swollen trunk gives it a remarkable appearance, giving rise to the name.
Sophora Milligold is a compact weeping tree with an upright trunk and weeping branches. It has deep green foilage and its large yellow flowers appear in the spring attracting Bellbirds and Tuis seeking its nectar.
NZ honeysuckle, Rewarewa, Knightia excelsa is a tall upright branching tree found throughout the North Island and in the Marlborough Sounds. It is attractive to native birds and has reddish brown flowers which form in late Spring and early Summer.
The Puka (Pukanui) tree can be found on Three Kings and the Hen and Chicken Islands. It is tropical in appearance with large glossy green leaves and will grow to a height of 5m. It is fast growing and likes sun or semi-shade and is frost tender.
